The challenge

A copper mining operation needed heavy-duty power distribution in a demanding, often remote environment. Building a motor control centre in the field means accepting risk on quality, safety and schedule, since controlled conditions and skilled labour are hard to guarantee away from a workshop. The unit had to be durable, safe for a mining environment and ready to run on arrival.

What PCS Global did

PCS precision-manufactured the unit as a containerised MCC in its own equipped workshop, built and tested under ISO 9001 quality control with a focus on durability and safety for mining conditions. Quality was signed off before the unit left the workshop, then PCS provided expert on-site commissioning so the MCC was brought into service cleanly rather than improvised in the field.
