Project Summary
March 2015 PCS Global South Africa was tasked with a complete refurbishment of the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation, of four PF Filter Presses at the Waterval Smelter at the Anglo Platinum Rustenburg Complex.

PCS Global Provided
PCS Global was responsible for the complete upgrade and refurbishment of the complete control system for these Filter Presses. This included migrating from an old existing Bechoff Control System to a Siemens Control System. PCS Global was responsible for the Design, Manufacturing, Supply and Installation of all the new Electrical, Automation and Instrumentation, along with the Engineering of all the Electrical equipment and Software Development associated with the project
PCS Global manufactured new replacement PLC Panels and Local Control Panels. These panels were built in accordance with the Anglo American specification
The automation team completed and successfully integrated a new software package which restored the Filter presses back to their original operating condition, complete with all the existing safety interlocks and new safety feature that were now added
PCS Global was fully responsible for the complete E&I installation and commissioning on the project and will continue to support and assist Anglo American with Service and Maintenance and Training through our highly skilled service and training department
